The rules of the road, in plain English.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You can manage child profiles inside your own account on behalf of dependents in your care. You agree to provide accurate profile information (allergens, diet rules, halal preference) — the verdict is only as good as the rules you set.

• A scanner that reads GS1 GCC barcodes and ingredient panels, returning a deterministic verdict against your profile.
• A per-person safe-list, with reformulation alerts when label data changes.
• Push notifications for recalls and reformulations on products you have saved.
• A reference trail: every verdict persists the rule-engine version and inputs hash so it can be re-derived on request.

• Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
• Dietary or nutrition planning beyond the rules you configure.
• A guarantee that an ingredient panel as published is the panel inside the package.
• A guarantee of completeness — products without GS1 GCC barcodes or with non-public ingredient panels may not resolve.

You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at security@sihhascan.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

• Free trial. 7 days, full feature access, no charge. You can cancel inside the app at any point during the trial and you will not be billed.
• Monthly subscription. OMR 2.5 / month, auto-renewing. Charged after the 7-day trial.
• Yearly subscription. OMR 22 / year, auto-renewing.
• Lifetime. OMR 45 one-time purchase. Non-recurring; no auto-renewal; no trial.
• Currency & billing. Prices above are the OMR base. The App Store / Google Play converts to your storefront’s local-currency equivalent (SAR, AED, KWD, BHD, QAR, USD, EUR, etc.) at the matched store tier — the exact charge in your currency is shown in the App and the Store before purchase. Billed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android, when available). Local taxes may apply.
• Cancellation. The monthly and yearly tiers can be canceled any time from your App Store / Play Store subscription settings — cancellation stops the next renewal, and the current period continues until its end date. The lifetime purchase is a one-time transaction and is not subject to renewal or cancellation.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by the App Store / Play Store under their policies.

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer the rule engine or scrape verdict outputs at scale.
• Use the app to publish, distribute, or sell verdict outputs as a competing product.
• Attempt to identify other users' scan histories.
• Submit deliberately falsified product reports.

The SihhaScan name, the wordmark, the app icon, the rule-engine implementation, and the design system are owned by SihhaScan. Citations to GSO, ESMA, SFDA, GAC, and GS1 GCC standards remain the property of their respective bodies; we cite them, we do not own them.

Content you submit (e.g. product reports, verdict feedback) is licensed to us only as needed to operate the service and improve the catalog. You retain ownership.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SihhaScan is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or losses arising from reliance on a verdict where the package label is the controlling source of truth. Our maximum aggregate liability is limited to fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in this clause excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach (security violation, fraud, large-scale scraping). You may close your account at any time from the app — your account data is removed within 30 days, with anonymized scan history retained only where required for catalog integrity.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Muscat. Where local law grants you stronger consumer rights, those rights apply.

We may update these terms — for example, to reflect a new feature or a billing change. The “last reviewed” date at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes, we’ll notify active users via the app and email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
